Visual Society Program

In the Visual Society Program (https://infoklasse.de/visop/), design students from the UdK Berlin collaborate with social scientists from the WZB Berlin Social Science Center. The program fosters interdisciplinary exchange, helping participants understand each other’s methods and develop new ways to communicate complex research. Each ViSoP project runs for at least twelve months.
One outcome of this collaboration is Full Disclosure, Paula Bambach’s Master’s project, developed with the WZB’s Department of Market Behaviour and the Lab² Team. The Lab² approach aligns closely with the project’s focus on transparency and context in visual research communication.
The installation ‘Full Disclosure’ investigates what can or should be made visible, invisible, or selectively transparent at the intersection of science and design. It presents 66 aspects from data origin and authorship to content descriptions; inviting visitors to turn cards, open layers, and reveal hidden information. Instead of a linear narrative, the installation creates space for reflection on openness, responsibility, and the nuanced boundaries of (meta)data transparency.
